The 370th Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Battalion (o) was formed in April 1940 in Air District XI with three batteries and subsequently deployed in Air District XI. From 1940 to 1945, the battalion was then stationed in Berlin with the 1st Anti-Aircraft Division. A fourth battery was formed for the battalion at the end of 1941. In July 1942, the battalion was renamed 370th Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Battalion (o). In 1943, the battalion received a fifth battery. In 1944, the third battery was disbanded and replaced by the fifth battery. The fourth battery was disbanded and replaced by the 3rd Battery of 578th Anti-Aircraft Searchlight Battalion.
