Very rare!

During World War II, the German home anti-aircraft artillery (Heimatflak for short) formed the stationary pillar of air defense in the German Reich. Its units were permanently deployed to protect strategic targets such as industrial centers, major cities, and transport hubs.
Due to the high personnel requirements at the front, from February 1943 onwards, the home anti-aircraft armament consisted only to a small extent of regular Luftwaffe soldiers. The operation of searchlights, radar equipment (such as the "Würzburg Giant") and guns was increasingly taken over by so-called Luftwaffe auxiliaries – mostly high school students born between 1926 and 1928 – as well as by female anti-aircraft auxiliaries, older men of the Landsturm (Home Guard), prisoners of war and foreign volunteers.
Despite the massive expansion of anti-aircraft defenses into belts and towers in major cities like Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna, Germany's home anti-aircraft units could not prevent Allied strategic bombing raids. Their military effect lay primarily in disrupting enemy approach formations, forcing higher drop altitudes, and tying up significant Allied personnel and material resources.
