Crimea shield on army fabric (field grey), GCA Type 3.1, Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid Type 1 (zinc)

Crimean shield on field gray military cloth . The sleeve shield is made of zinc, manufactured and bronzed. The shield is in very good, unworn condition. The shield has almost complete bronze plating, is complete with all four prongs, the zinc backing plate, and the almost complete black paper covering. The shield itself has no maker's mark, but is a known variant from the Wilhelm Deumer company of Lüdenscheid. A very early shield, the first variant, see GCA database type 3.1 .
