Luftwaffe Flak Combat Badge, in its case . The badge is made entirely of blackened non-ferrous metal, with the Luftwaffe eagle soldered on separately. The piece is in very good condition, showing only minimal wear; the blackening is almost completely intact. As is typical for this variant, it lacks any maker's mark, but it is a known variant produced by the Friedrich Linden company of Lüdenscheid (FLL). See the GCA database or the specialist book by Marc Garlasco, "The Flak Badges of the Luftwaffe and Heer".
With a typical pin system, made entirely of non-ferrous metal, the pin hook made of flat wire, soldered directly on, a small, solidly crafted pin block, also soldered directly on, and a thin carrying pin made of round wire, 1,46 mm in diameter. Dimensions of the badge: wreath width 44,36 mm, height 61,57 mm, eagle wingspan 40,72 mm, weight: 36,50 g.
In its original blue Luftwaffe case. The flat lid is stamped with the inscription "Flak-Kampf-Abzeichen" (Flak Combat Badge) in gold. The inside and lid are covered with blue spray felt. This is the correct case for this variant. Dimensions: 80,4 × 80,58 × 27,8 mm, Weight: 51,88 g.
