Soldiers' historical headgear is as diverse as the military uniforms themselves. Every era of military history holds countless stories, which is what makes military collectibles so fascinating for many. One of the most curious headgear in military history is undoubtedly the Prussian Pickelhaube. Originally called "helmet with a spike," it was not only part of military equipment, but also of police equipment, first used in the Prussian army and administration in 1843.
Sale of steel helmets and Wehrmacht helmets
Less decorative, but equally popular with collectors, is the German steel helmet used by the Wehrmacht. Due to ever-increasing war expenditures and the ever-increasing demand for protective gear, efforts were made to build a simpler and cheaper steel helmet model that could be delivered quickly to soldiers. The M42 and its predecessor, the M40, are almost identical. The most widely produced model, the M42, was manufactured in dark green to reduce conspicuousness in the field.
