Paratrooper Badge

The historical medals and awards of soldiers are as diverse as military history itself. Every era holds countless stories, which make military collectibles so fascinating. Militaria-Berlin offers you a variety of these special items – including paratrooper badges of the German Wehrmacht. In addition to sales, we are also interested in purchasing military memorabilia from estates, household liquidations, or other stocks.

Sale of Wehrmacht Paratrooper Badges

Like every branch of the Wehrmacht, the Luftwaffe also had numerous medals and awards.
The most important is the Paratrooper Badge, established in 1936 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe, Hermann Göring. This, too, is not a decoration for military achievement, but rather an award for the successful completion of the paratrooper training course. It was awarded to officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted personnel of the Wehrmacht.
Appearance: A gilded, swooping eagle with a swastika in its talons, surrounded by a silver wreath of oak leaves.
The first Paratrooper Division was established in France in May 1943 by renaming the 7th Air Division. For this purpose, the paratrooper units deployed scattered across the Eastern Front were gathered and formed into a division in France. The German paratroopers experienced their greatest success in 1941 with the capture of the island of Crete from the air.
